Vemma and HealthCorps Take It "Back to the Garden"

This spring, under the canopy of skyscrapers and bright lights, Vemma CEO and President BK Boreyko and his wife, Courtney, joined with Vemma Elite Leaders in New York City to attend the HealthCorps inaugural gala. HealthCorps was founded by Dr. Mehmet Oz, a renowned heart surgeon who most recently has garnered national attention through the immense support of Oprah Winfrey. The charity event, “Back to the Garden,” welcomed over 700 guests to the New York Metropolitan Pavilion in an atmosphere reminiscent of the Garden of Eden.

With the red carpet and paparazzi leading the way, New York’s elite stepped out to show their support for this important and exciting evening. Some notable names in attendance were Gayle King, leading the gala as Mistress of Ceremonies, John Mack, CEO of Morgan Stanley, Kevin Liles, Vice President of Warner Brothers Music, and Mark Messier, former New York Rangers hockey player. Joining them were several Vemma Elite Club Members who flew out to the Big Apple to show their support: Jeff and Ruth Elliott, Tom and Bethany Alkazin, Gary and Marla Brady, Jeff and Elizabeth Hooks, and Dan and Cathy Sarver.

Guests dined on a three-course dinner planned by Dr. Oz himself and enjoyed front-row seats to performances by musical artists James Blunt and Musiq Soulchild. In typical Dr. Oz fashion, his mission of wellness was ever present as he showed videos about maintaining the health of your body and organs. The event proved to be a great success as HealthCorps met their fundraising goal of $900,000.

Vemma also had the opportunity to reach out to new people by having an exhibit and sample table at the event and naturally, the response was phenomenal! Vemma’s presence was evident throughout the event not only as a principal sponsor of HealthCorps, but also through our staff’s work on the design of the invitations, program booklets, menus, and website.
