In the Right Place at the Right Time
It isn’t often you meet two people who are so dedicated to improving the lives of others that they would rather work full-time at a coffee shop than get extra shut-eye. New Royal Ambassadors, Ruth and Jeff Elliott, aren’t serving late-night lattes though, but rather are using the cozy atmosphere to share the Vemma opportunity in a non-threatening and welcoming environment. What’s better than sharing a cup of coffee with friends over good conversation about health, wellness and financial security? Such a dynamic attitude has propelled this power couple into the top rank in Vemma, the first to rise to the prestigious position of Royal Ambassador!
So what was the Elliott’s first reaction to achieving Royal Ambassador? “We were shocked by what Vemma did for us!” Ruth says. After a congratulatory message in the back office, beautiful Royal Ambassador recognition pins and a myriad of special gifts, the support continues to pour in from the Vemma Home Office. This honor has reaffirmed to the couple that they are truly passing along valuable marketing strategies and business techniques that are contributing to the success of others.
“We feel that as leaders, we are confident that we’re leading our teams in the right way, teaching them to build their business the way we did,” Jeff says.
A few years ago, the Elliott’s outlook wasn’t so rosy. Jeff and the couple’s two children were battling terrible illnesses and the family was coping with financial strain after a network marketing company they were with went under. Then, one day, they received a phone call that would change their lives. It was from Vemma President and CEO, BK Boreyko.
“We knew about BK and respected what he was doing but at the time he called, I wasn’t very receptive to the opportunity because I was working a full-time job,” Ruth explained. “Vemma was just launching but he told us that it would be the biggest thing to hit North America.”
The couple decided to try the Vemma products but didn’t realize at the time that it was the exact business opportunity they had been searching for. When Jeff started to see dramatic improvement in his health after coping with chronic health problems for five years, both he and Ruth dove into the research on the benefits of mangosteen. Once they heard how well other people were doing on the product, they knew they had to put their energy into sharing Vemma with everyone they could. They now boast 10,000 people in their profit leg alone!

The couple’s success is an amazing testimony to the effectiveness of a powerful networking system they have been using for the past two years. When Ruth and Jeff started with Vemma, they quickly recognized that people didn’t have time to attend lengthy opportunity meetings and listen to presentations on the intricacies of the product and compensation plan. Along with close friends and colleagues, Ambassador Leaders, Gary and Marla Brady, the Elliotts decided they had to find a better approach to connect with prospects. This was how the Coffee Shop Club was born.
“When we saw the same people returning week after week to opportunity meetings, we asked them where their prospects were,” Jeff recalls. “They said they loved the products but didn’t know how to talk about it.”
Jeff and Ruth knew they had a great story to tell and plenty of knowledge on the product and the comp plan. “We told these people who had no network marketing experience to invite ten acquaintances to the next meeting because we did know what to say to them,” says Ruth.
They established a day at Panera Bread Company® where they could meet with each person’s ten people and those ten people’s guests and so on. Now, on any given Wednesday, the Elliotts and fellow Vemma Leaders welcome more than 80 prospects and colleagues. Aside from this weekly event, the Elliotts set aside other days at the coffee shop and make frequent trips to visit teams in cities across the nation. In addition, Jeff dedicates more than 40 hours a week as a full-time firefighter. The couple doesn’t complain about the work load, though.
“As leaders, this is how our system works,” says Jeff. “You have to invest a piece of yourself. You have to understand how opportunity works by being hands-on and doing the work. If it was as simple as handing out CDs, we’d all be rich.”
The couple understands that in order to enact change, the person has to be willing to adjust, which is not going to happen without working extra time to make connections. “The average person doesn’t have to work this hard, but we are willing to,” Ruth says.
While the Elliotts have achieved the zenith in Vemma rank advancements, it doesn’t mean they’re content to rest. Their goal is to create financial freedom for anyone who wants it in their group. “We are sitting on the finest opportunity in America today, which is Vemma,” Ruth says. “It is there for anyone to take advantage of what it has to offer. It is a single product focus that really works.”
Congratulations, Ruth and Jeff, on being the first to achieve the top rank of Royal Ambassadors in Vemma!
