Catching the Magic in Las Vegas
by Melissa Sanford
I attended the Vemma® Convention this year not just as Vemma's freelance writer, but also as a fairly new Vemma Member. I knew the weekend would change my life forever, and it did that and so much more.
As I walked into the first session on Friday afternoon, I could actually feel the electricity in the air. Upbeat music pumped through the giant ballroom as hundreds of Vemma Members filtered in, greeted teammates and found seats. The room looked amazing! The stage was set to look like an oasis in the Las Vegas desert with giant screens framing either side. We all reveled in our surroundings and prepared to take off on the first leg of our magic carpet journey.
Everyone in the room seemed to sit on the edge of their seats as we waited for things to get started. And once they did, what a ride it was! I don't think I'll ever forget the emotional opening video that moved me to tears. The overriding theme screamed loud and clear to each and every one of us, "Never, ever give up!" I really don't think there was a dry eye in the house!
Friday was an afternoon filled with product education and many Leaders took the stage to share their knowledge and experience. George Hou gave a rousing presentation on the significance of the Super Silver Pack. Ruth Elliott and Jeff Hooks talked about vemma.net and its ability to transform your business. And the list goes on and on. Our first convention day closed with a fantastic presentation from Dr. Barnet Meltzer. His "State of the Union" address focused on the frightening health crisis we face in this country and how supplementation is no longer an option, but a necessity. After his amazing energy, knowledge and humor, we all left the room feeling alive, energized and definitely ready for more!
With all that great product knowledge under our belts we launched full force into Saturday and spent most of the day with high-energy industry trainer, Dani Johnson. Dani taught us so many things about how to succeed in our Vemma business. She talked about the importance of personal growth in building a successful organization and imparted countless nuggets of wisdom. You really haven't lived until you've seen Dani Johnson live.
Then, just when I thought things couldn't get any better, I entered the ballroom Saturday evening for our awards banquet. I felt like I was at the Oscars! Everyone was dressed to the nines and I watched in awe as Leader after Leader walked across the stage to be recognized for rank advancing. It seemed to go on for hours! What a tribute to our amazing product, to BK and to our entire organization. What other company has produced so many leaders in so little time? Watching all those Leaders made me realize that we can all do it. We can all walk across that stage in Hawaii. We can all be Leaders. And, as I sat there in the twinkling ballroom, I silently thanked BK, my amazing team and the moon and stars for bringing Vemma into my life.
